Μαύρο αυτόματο επιτοίχιο τηλέφωνο από βακελίτη. Επάνω, ακουστικό που συνδέεται με τη συσκευή με υφασμάτινο καλώδιο ώχρα χρώματος. Μεταλλικός περιστροφικός επιλογέας σε λευκό φόντο, όπου υπάρχουν γράμματα από το ελληνικό αλφάβητο (Α-Κ), που μαρτυρούν τη χρήση του τηλεφώνου στην Ελλάδα. Μεταλλική βάση. Ο συγκεκριμένος τύπος τηλεφώνου αποτελεί τμήμα μιας μεγαλύτερης σειράς τηλεφωνικών συσκευών της Siemens σε συνεργασία με το Ταχυδρομείο της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας (B.P.O.), το οποίο επόπτευε των τομέα των τηλεπικοινωνιών στην χώρα. Παρόλο που η συσκευή έχει σημαντική εμπορική επιτυχία, ο τύπος 311 δεν υιοθετείται επίσημα από την B.P.O. Η σειρά ονοματίζεται Neophone από την Siemens και σύμφωνα με τις διαφημίσεις της εποχής προωθείται από την εταιρεία ως ""η πιο αποτελεσματική τηλεφωνική συσκευή του κόσμου"", η οποία ""δεν είναι απλώς εξαιρετικά όμορφη στην εμφάνιση και εύκολη στη χρήση, αλλά σίγουρα ανώτερη από οποιαδήποτε άλλη ως προς την ποιότητα μετάδοσης του λόγου και της άρθρωσης"". Black automatic Bakelite wall phone fitted with a metal (steel) base plate and a handset connected to the device with an ochre woven cord. It has a metal rotary dial with a white inner ring sporting the letters A-K in Greek, testifying to the use of the device in Greece. This specific model formed part of a bigger Siemens telephone series in collaboration with the British Post Office (B.P.O) which carried the responsibility for providing telecommunication services across the country. Although the device was a commercial success, the 311 model was never officially adopted by B.P.O. Siemens named the series "Neophone" and, according to Siemens’ advertisements at the time, this was "the world’s most efficient telephone" which was "not only exceptionally handsome in appearance and convenient to use but definitely superior to any other telephone as regards speech transmission efficiency and articulation" (EN)
