Μαρμάρινη σαρκοφάγος, αττικού εργαστηρίου, από λευκό πεντελικό μάρμαρο. Το σώμα της σαρκοφάγου είναι διακοσμημένο με ανάγλυφες μορφές μαινάδων και σατύρων, συνοδούς του θεού Διόνυσου, στη μια μακριά πλευρά της, ενώ στην άλλη απεικονίζονται λιοντάρια να πλαισιώνουν αγγείο για την ανάμειξη του κρασιού. Τις στενές πλευρές κοσμούν δύο ερωτιδείς που διεκδικούν φύλλο φοίνικα και σάτυρος με λεοντή, αντίστοιχα. (EL)

Sarcophagus made of white Pentelic marble in an Attic workshop. The body of the sarcophagus is decorated on one of the long sides with relief figures of maenads and satyrs, attendants of the god Dionysus, while on the other, lions are depicted framing a vase for the mixing of wine. The narrow sides are adorned with two cupids fighting over a palm leaf and a satyr with a lion skin. (EN)
