Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Οικογένεια της Τήνου και της Κρήτης, βενετικής καταγωγής. Το συγκεκριμένο οικόσημο βρισκόταν μέχρι την δεκαετία του 1990 εντοιχισμένο στον περιστερώνα της Μονής Αγίου Φραγκίσκου στη Μέση Τήνου. Τα αρχικά Μ και Μ οδηγούν τον μελετητή Αλέκο Φλωράκη να το αποδώσει σε Βενετό ρέκτορα της Τήνου, είτε στον Marco Muazzo (1439), είτε στον Marino Muazzo (1584). Όπως παρατηρεί όμως και ο ίδιος, απόγονοι της οικογένειας συνεχίζουν να υπάρχουν στο νησί (Μοάτσοι, Μουδάτσοι, Μουντάτσοι).

Historical Notice: Family of Tinos and Crete, with venetian origins. This particular coat-of-arms, accompanied by the initials M and M, was to be found, until the mid-1990s- in the Monastery of Agios Frangiskos, in Mesi of Tinos. Based on its charge and the letters, the scholar Alekos Florakis assumes that it belonged to a Venetian rector of Tinos, either Marco Muazzo (1439), or Marino Muazzo (1584). As he points out, though, members of this family still exist in the island up to this day (Moatso, Muthatso, Mudatso).
