The archive of proverbs was established by N. G. Politis and further systematized and supplemented by D. Loukatos. It currently comprises 160.000 entries that derive from the indexing of the Centre’s Manuscripts Archive, as well as the indexing of books, collections and newspapers. The archive of popular legends includes 6,760 different entries deriving from the indexing of the Centre’s Manuscripts Archive and other printed sources. The material is sorted according to N. G. Politis’ classification, as further developed by D. Lοukatos. New documentation fields have been added to the above classification, in order to meet contemporary theoretical and methodological requirements.
