The archive of the Chamber of Fine Arts contains documents of all visual artists, a variety of artistic activities since its foundation in 1944 up today. Moreover, files of artists preoccupation with a series of other activities such as literature, poetry and philosophy. A significant number of artists monograph. All correspondence related to the State, Political authorities and local government upon issues related to all the aspect of artistic creation, as well as issues of art education and issues of artwork placement in public spaces. Labor, insurance and tax issues are also a few of the main topics of that correspondence. The Chamber of Fine Art also maintains records of alliances with social organizations and working unions. Furthermore, maintains records of political and social struggles of artists for their labor rights and their struggles to establish art as an essential part of social structure as well. Documents, writings and minutes of conferences and symposium organized by the Chamber of Fine Arts both in Greece and abroad are also included. Last but not least, materials such as photographs, videos and tapes from exhibitions and cultural events occupy a large part of Chamber files.
