The project entitled "Promotion of Orthodox Cultural Heritage of Chania" implemented by the Platanias municipality, as beneficiary organisation, in collaboration with the Orthodox Academy of Crete and relating to the design and creation of an innovative portal for the purpose of digital projection and display of ecclesiastical treasures, collections of monasteries and in general the Orthodox cultural heritage of Chania. The Municipality of Platanias and the Orthodox Academy of Crete in cooperation with the Holy Metropolises Kissamos & Selino and Kydonia & Apokoronas, hope that this project will be a means of improving the way in which citizens and tourists are able to view ecclesiastical relics and monasteries in Chania. The project presents the unique content of the collections using attractive, modern methods and creating the appropriate infrastructure. Furthermore, it aims to display the digitised and documented exhibits, developing intelligent technical views of church reports, monasteries and churches with the development and promotion of digital cultural-church exhibits by using web 2 Services, assuring multichannel accessibility and taking into account the specific characteristics of each application.
