The Holy Metropolis of Ioannina is a Public Authority. The recognition of the legal person is reflected in Article 11 of Law 590 (Government Gazette A΄146/31.5.1977, "On the Charter of the Church of Greece"). The Holy Metropolis of Ioannina is administered by the Metropolitan of Ioannina, Mr. Maximou (Vassileiou) Papagianni (Official Gazette 395/YODD/11-07-2014).
