The Faculty of Fine Arts was founded under Presidential Decree 169/84, simultaneously establishing three Schools, more specifically: The School of Visual and Applied Arts, which has been operating since the 1984-85 academic year. The School of Visual and Applied Arts is the oldest School in the Faculty of Fine Arts, AUTh.
