Ξύλινη επιτοίχια μαγνητική τηλεφωνική συσκευή. Η συσκευή στηρίζεται σε ξύλινο σκάφος (καρυδιά) σε σχήμα βιολιού (για το λόγο αυτό η συσκευή επονομάζεται και «fiddleback). Πάνω βρίσκονται δύο μπρούτζινα κουδούνια. Στη μέση της συσκευής επικλινές ξύλινο πλαίσιο που εξυπηρετεί τις εσωτερικές λειτουργίες του τηλεφώνου, το οποίο προσφέρεται ως αναλόγιο για τις ανάγκες της τηλεφωνικής συνδιάλεξης. Στη δεξιά πλευρά του κουτιού βρίσκεται η μανιβέλα (επίχρυσο μέταλλο με πλαστική μαύρη απόληξη) και στην αριστερή επίχρυσο μεταλλικό άγκιστρο. Σε αυτό στηρίζεται επίχρυσο μεταλλικό ακουστικό (πιθανώς μετεγενέστερο), του οποίου η χειρολαβή και το επιστόμιο είναι από μαύρο πλαστικό. Το ακουστικό συνδέεται με τη συσκευή με καλώδιο με υφασμάτινη επίστρωση σε χρώμα ανοιχτό κίτρινο. Το κάτω μέρος της συσκευής (του οποίου λείπει η μπροστά όψη-«πόρτα») προσφέρει τη δυνατότητα φύλαξης τηλεφωνικού καταλόγου ή σχετικών εγγράφων. Καθώς τα μικρόφωνα εκείνη την εποχή ήταν ιδιαίτερα ευαίσθητα στις κρούσεις και τις δονήσεις του κουδουνιού απαιτούνταν στιβαρές και μεγάλες επιτοίχιες κατασκευές από ξύλο. Ωστόσο, αυτού του τύπου οι συσκευές αντικαταστάθηκαν σχετικά γρήγορα με τις - πιο πρακτικές - ξύλινες συσκευές τύπου "κουτί". Ως προσπάθεια καθιέρωσης και αναγνωρισιμότητας στο πλαίσιο του αναδυόμενου ανταγωνισμού μεταξύ των εταιρειών παρατηρούνταν διαφοροποιήσεις σε σχέση με την τεχνοτροπία διακόσμησης στις τηλεφωνικές συσκευές μεγάλου μεγέθους. Ειδικότερα για την Ericsson, oi σειρές αυτές έφεραν ιδιαίτερες ομοιότητες και με επιτοίχια ρολόγια της εποχής, στοιχείο που λειτουργούσε και ως άμεση αναφορά στιες έννοιες της ακρίβειας και της πειθαρχίας, οι οποίες διαδραμάτιζαν κομβικό ρόλο στην εποχή του εμπορίου και της έναρξης των μαζικών μεταφορών. Wooden magneto wall phone mounting on a violin-shaped wood (walnut) cabinet (the device is also called "fiddleback" due to its shape). On the top is a dual bronze bell ringer. At the middle, the device is fitted with a sloping wooden box catering for the phone's internal functions, and also serving as a stand for the purpose of a telephone conversation. On the right is a crank (gold-plated metal with a black tip) and on the left a gold-plated metal hook switch whereon is mounted the gold-plated metal handset (probably a latter addition) whose handle and mouthpiece are made from black plastic. The handset is connected with the device with a pale yellow cloth cord. The bottom of the device (missing its facade - "door") offered the possibility to store telephone directories or other relevant documents. Due to the microphones' sensitivity to the bell ringers' striking and vibrations, there was a need for well-built, big wooden wall-mounted constructions. However, such constructions were rapidly replaced by - more practical - "box"-style wooden constructions. In an effort to differentiate themselves from the competitors, the companies turned to disparate styles for decorating big-sized phones, Especially as regards Ericsson, these telephone series were quite similar to wall-mounted clocks at that time. The clock represented exactness and discipline that held high status in the developing industrial society, where trade and mass transportation were essential elements. (EN)
