Description

This bench is used by the gaffer while forming a glass object. Traditionally, this is a wide bench with arms, on which the gaffer rests the blowpipe with its parison of molten glass and rolls it backwards and forward so that the parison retains its symmetrical shape during the forming process. The collection contains a few variants of this piece of workshop furniture, as well as models of the glassworker's chair. (EN)

Ce banc est utilisé par le gaffer tout en formant un objet en verre. Traditionnellement, il s'agit d'un banc large avec des bras, sur lequel le gaffer pose la sarbacane avec sa paraison de verre fondu et la fait rouler d'avant en arrière afin que la paraison conserve sa forme symétrique pendant le processus de formage. La collection contient quelques variantes de ce meuble d'atelier, ainsi que des modèles de chaise de verrier. (FR)
