The present collection has been implemented by the project "Digital Navigation Guide Using Augmented Reality and Holograms", which was financed by the Operational Program "Ionian Islands 2014-2020", with the co-financing of the E.U. (MIS:5031254). The implementing parties of the project are: the Special Account for Research Funds of the Ionian University, the Interactive Arts Laboratory of the Department of Audiovisual Arts and the Ephorate of Antiquities of Corfu. The collection includes a number of points of interest located within the monument of the Old Town of Corfu, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007, according to criterion 4 "being an outstanding example of some kind of building, architectural or technological assemblage or landscape, which demonstrates (a) an important stage (a) in human history'. The collection does not exhaust all the points of interest of the monument, it refers only to those described and analyzed in the Management Plan of the Monument for the period 2006-2012. It includes public and private buildings, churches, museums, monuments, etc. The aim of the project, through the present collection and its evidence, is to present a complete picture of the monument of the Old Town of Corfu, giving historical information about each point of interest and multimedia material that has been created specifically for this purpose.
