The nautical collection of Panagiotis K. Laskaridis is one of the most important in Greece. The collection was built up from the mid-1980s onwards, and today numbers 282 items, the oldest of which is a cannon fitting from the Spanish Armada during the campaign against England in 1588. Of special interest is the collection of scrimshaws (crafted bones and teeth of whales or other mammals), one of the richest in the world, which counts around 130 unique items.
